Aunt Lorna was will to take my camer and take some pictures for me. Thanks Lorna! So here are a few picts of their fun day!

Dallin's Graduation
Dallin did it! He Graduated from Lehi High. He is an amazing young man! We are very proud of him! Now it is off to college for a year, then off to serve a mission!! How time flies by.
I Survived Girls Camp!
This year I was able to go to Girl's Camp! I was able to go with Jaimie for the first time. It was really fun...minus the rain and cold. It was fun to get to know the girls and their leaders.

We are on the count down!
It is so hard to come up with things to post on my blog! My kids are not young, so there is not a lot of photo taking, and they are usually gone either working or haning out with friends! How ever......We are on the count down for when Derek comes home. A couple of days ago Dallin and I ran into a friend of Derek's. He asked when Derek is coming home, and I said "in 6 months" and Dallin quickly said, "no Mom, he has 5 1/2 months". Who is counting?? My how the time has flown by.
Derek is in an awesome area right now. He was transfered from Palmyra to a town called Canadagua. Say that one three times fast! He was made a Zone leader there. It is only about 10 minutes from the Sacrad Grove. Not to mention that the town is amazing! It is on the last of the finger lakes. He also gets to go to the Hill Camorah Pagent and teach the cast members how to mingle and approach the people in the crowd. He is pretty excited. I wish that we could go and see it! So if any of you get to go this summer, and you just happen to see Derek. Please give him a hug for me and make sure that you call me and report!!

We had a fun night a Ruth Chris Steak House in Park City. We rented a room and did what our family does best! EAT! What more could you want? Family, food and lots of laughs. We love you Mom and Dad!

What Dave will do to watch BYU sports
Those of you who know Dave, know that he is a sports NUT. Those of you who don't, well......here is a story of how far he will go to watch them play. Most people who love watching the NCAA tournament have been stopped by the IT department at their work. Meaning they made it so no one can watch any games on there computers by streaming video. Hence that is what happened to Dave.
So, when BYU was scheduled to play at 10:30 AM, that posed a problem for him. Dave is much smarter than I give him credit for. When I went to go eat breakfast, I seen that Dave had left his wallet, blackberry, blue tooth ear piece, and his personal cell phone on the counter. Dave NEVER does this. He is very routine about what he does in the morning. I was worried! I didn't even think about the BYU basket ball game. So I called him and asked if he was okay? Maybe he had a stroke or something??? "No, I just forgot", he said. "I have a meeting in draper at 10:45 so I will come home to get them, before the meeting". I said that I would meet him and take them to him. His reply, "no that's okay, I'll just come and get them". I didn't argue, that was fine by me. Next thing I see is him speeding down the hill and into the drive way and run into the house and flip on the TV, right to the BYU game! He made it just in time for the tip off! I was stunned to say the least. Oh, and the meeting....was changed to 11:45. Half time started at 11:25. I think they went to Iggy's Sports Bar for a so called lunch meeting.
Just so you know, Dave swears he did not do any of this on purpose! Ya right!!! It is just to bad that BYU ended up losing.

March Madness Begins!

GO UTES! Mountain West Conference Champs!
Okay, so now the game is on at our house! If you didn't already know, Dave and I are total opposites when it comes to college sports. I am the Ute fan and Dave is the BYU fan. So needless to say, we have fun at our house when either teem is playing, but especially when they play each other.

Elder Maughan
I just looked at the calender and realized that Derek only has 8 more months left on his mission!! I can not believe it. Everyone told me how the time flyes by, but I didn't believe them. The first 6 months seemed like forever! He is doing really well. He is currently in Bath, New York. Which he has been there since November. It is the longest place he has sstayed. He was made the district leader about a month ago, which he was really scared about, but I am sure that he is doing a great job. If you would like to email him, his address is; derekscottmaughan@myfamily.com. He would love to hear from you!

This Has Been One of Those Weeks You want to Kill Your Husband!!
I'm sorry that the story did not post. I'm not sure what happened. So, about why I wanted to kill my husband. Well, it is kind of a long story, but I will try to keep it short. Dave has been on this kick lately about cutting costs and finding new ways to save money. Unfortunately I think he has turned into a Democrat, by doing things the socialist way! Sorry if you are a Democrat. Lol!
He decided in December to change our Internet and Cable from Comcast to Qwest. No problem other than we had to change our emails and lost our whole email address book! Then in January he decided that we could save more money if we switched the cable to Direct TV. Not so cool as now we have a lovely dish on the corner of our roof! They are not good during wind storms either. Then he found out we could save a couple of dollars if we had Direct TV billed through Qwest. Well, it seemed easy enough. But some how in the translation, Qwest thought we wanted to cancel everything! So the day Dave and I left for Costa Rica they shut everything off! Phone, Internet, and the dish. It would not have been such a big deal, but we left Jaimie and Dallin home alone. They were not happy with us. They thought that Dave did it on purpose! Which I thought was funny, they didn't know their dad that well. He would never have thought to do that. He had to many games recording while we were gone. So finally I told Dallin to say he was Dave and call Quest. I know that was not a good example to him, but the desperation in his voice was scaring me. So he got it turned back on the day we came home!!!! Yeah for us! Well, the latest cost saving Dave did, was he switched our phones to Vonage. It will save us about $50.00 he said. Well 3 days later our phones were turned off because Qwest turned off our Internet and Vonage goes through the DSL. Okay, now I am really mad. I had work to do on the Internet!!! I told him he had better have it back on by the end of the day. Well Qwest does not work that way!! 3 days later Dave finally phoned a friend that worked at Qwest, and he was able to get it turned back on the next morning. I know it is pretty sad how dependant I have become on all these technical things. It was funny however, when I was really complaining one day, Dallin said, "now you know what we went through for 6 days"! No sympathy there. Well that's the story. I have now band Dave from trying to save money by switching things around like that.

Jaimie is Vindicated!
Okay, I have to suck it up and tell Jaimie how sorry I am for the blog that I wrote about her waking up at night, saying that there was an owl outside that was keeping her awake. As it turns out......there really is an owl! Dallin was outside last night at about 10:30pm taking care of our dog. And I must say that I love cell phones! He was gone along time and I was getting a little worried about him. So I called and asked where he was. He said, "I am out side trying to find this owl that keeps hooting". Really? Are you being serious or just messing around. He said, "no, there really is an owl out here"! So Jaimie, I am sorry that I didn't believe you. However, you really didn't need to wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me! Morning would have sufficed!!!!!! I love my kids!

More pictures from Costa Rica!
I didn't want to tell the bad that happened in Costa Rica, mainly because I always have some sort of problem that always happens to me. And I am sure everyone is sick of hearing about me. So I will just give the short version.
I had been sick with a bad chest cold before we left for Costa Rica. But we thought it would do me good to go veg on a beach. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong! I was fine until Sunday night. Then I just started felling horrible! So that ruined the last day in Costa Rica. The trip home was down right miserable. We made it home at 1:45am the next morning. I slept for the next 2 days! As it turns out I have pneumonia, strep throat and both ears are infected. Now I really feel bad for all the other people on the plane will me! So someday I hope to go back to Costa Rica and really enjoy it! I hope you enjoy the new pictures that I posted.

Costa Rica!
This past week Dave and I were given the opportunity of a life time! A friend of Dave's called up a week and a half ago and asked if we would be interested in going to Costa Rica with a group from KJZZ? Just like that!!!! I'm sure you are all saying the same thing as we did! First response was, who is this? Second response was, what did you just say? Third response was, good joke! He responded by saying, "It's no joke, we had someone cancel at the last minute and we would just lose out on the airfare and hotel, so it is better to try to find someone. However, it is hard to find someone this short of notice who has a passport, so talk to your wife and let me know". What did he need to talk to me about???? Where is my swimming suit?
We left on Wednesday morning and arrived the next day at 1:45 am. It was a long trip getting there, but it was worth it. We met some great people and made some great friends. The staff from KJZZ was awesome and the hotel "Los Suenos Golf Resort by Marriott" on the Pacific coast was incredible(Los Suenos means "the dream"). Costa Rica is a beautiful country! We didn't go do any of the big tourist attractions, instead we decided to take it easy and do what the locals like to do. So thanks to Dave speaking Spanish, we were able to find out where the best beaches and resturants were.
One of the best beaches we went to was Hermosa beach...what more can I say, Hermosa means "beautiful" in Spanish. And boy was it beautiful, the waves were absolutely perfect for boogie boarding and surfing. No crowds, great food and wonderful hosts at a little hotel called Puesta del Sol. Next time we go I think we will stay there.
Every morning we were treated to a breakfast buffet of Costa Rican cuisine that was amazing.
I could not eat enough of the fresh canalope and watermellon! We are so greatful for the oppertunitee to see such a beautiful part of the world. Thank you Kjzz!

Kids still get up in the middle of the night!
Okay, I have no new pictures to share, however I just wanted all of my friends out there who have little ones that get up in the middle of the night, that it doesn't end when they get older, it just scares you more. I'm what they call an insomniac. I don't usually get to sleep until about 12:00 or 1:00am. However last night was an exception. I haven't been feeling to great, just the normal winter cold and sinus stuff. So I finally got to sleep when I heard someone get up and go to the bathroom. I made the big mistake of asking who was up? Jaimie answered "it's just me", well are you okay? Making sure she wasn't throwing up or anything. "Yes", came the reply. Good! Whew! Back to sleep, that is for about an hour when in a dream state I am hearing, "Mom, mom, MOM"! Okay, okay I am awake now! It's Jaimie. "What's wrong? There is an owl outside my window and it keeps going whowho! I can't sleep, can I sleep with you? NO! Go back to bed. Really mom I can't! Jaimie, it is just the wind. No it is not". So, to stop the argument I let her get in bed with me. Big mistake. Jaimie then started snoring! I have Dave on one side of me with his breathing machine and Jaimie on the other side sound asleep and snoring. I put up with it for about an hour, then I finally woke her up and told her to go back to her own bed. By the time I finally fell back asleep it was 4:30am. I still can not convinve Jaimie that it was the wind and not an owl. Lets hope for a better nights sleep tonight!
