HONOLULU, Hawai’i – On Wednesday night the Western Athletic Conference released the 2008 all-conference volleyball teams with Boise State sophomore Sadie Maughan earning a spot on the second team. The team selections were based on the votes of the nine conference head coaches.

A 6-foot-4-inch middle blocker out of Murray, Utah, Maughan garnered her first career all-WAC honor and the first for the Broncos since the 2006 season.

A tough competitor at the net, Maughan leads the team in kills this season with 210, while also hitting a .278 percentage and a 2.16 per set average. She also has racked up 100 blocks, including 15 solo, to rank second on the team while also producing a 1.03 per set average.

Jamie Houston of Hawai’i was named the 2008 WAC Player of the Year while teammate Kanani Danielson was named WAC Freshman of the Year. New Mexico State head coach Mike Jordan was dubbed the 2008 WAC Coach of the Year by his peers.

The Broncos begin their first day of competition at the 2008 WAC tournament in Honolulu, Hawai’i. No. 7 seeded Boise State will face No. 2 and tournament host Hawai’i in a 10:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) match at the Stan Sheriff Center.
